A series of professional chamber music concerts arranged by the Sevenoaks Music Club, held in the district's finest chamber music venue, the Ship Theatre, an ideal space for the appreciation of live chamber music in intimate and comfortable surroundings.
In our next season we have two string quartets: the Saconni Quartet and the Villiers Quartet, leading quartets of young UK players. They each play one of Dvořák's last two string quartets. Ukrainian-born pianist Alexei Grynyuk gives a recital of classics from the Romantic piano repertoire and Michael Foyle (violin), BBC Young Musician of the Year award winner, gives a recital spanning three centuries. This season's programme includes a Wind Quintet, the New London Chamber Ensemble, who present a programme full of interest and variety. And two chosen contestants in the Sevenoaks Young Musicians Competition, Henry Hargreaves (cello) and Rebecca Leung (piano), share a program that offers us a glimpse of up and coming young musical talent. Finally, we have the Piano Trio Shaham Erez Wallfisch, three performers with international reputations, in a programme that includes two of the great 19th century masterpieces of the genre.
