Piatti String Quartet - 3pm, Sunday 11th April 2010

We have secured an extra concert, to be given by the Piatti Quartet, one of today's leading young string quartets. They are recipients of the Tunnell Trust Award 2010/11 and have recently been chosen for the prestigious Park Lane Group young artists series. They gave their Purcell Room debut in October and returned there in January as part of the Peter Maxwell Davis 'Naxos' quartet series.

In 2010, the Piatti String Quartet are launching the 'Piatti Chamber Music Festival at Kingsand', in Cornwall.

For their Sunday afternoon concert in the Ship Theatre they will play:

• Beethoven: String Quartet No 10 in E flat, Op 74 ('Harp') 
• Debussy: String Quartet in G min, Op 10
• Mendelssohn: String Quartet No 2 in A min, Op 13
