Trio Shaham Erez Wallfisch was founded in 2009 by three of the finest international instrumentalists performing today: Hagai Shaham (violin), Arnon Erez (piano) and Raphael Wallfisch (cello). The Trio has performed, broadcast and recorded widely throughout Europe and Israel. Their Wigmore Hall concert in January 2016 was described as "a first rate evening of music making" (Seen and Heard International). Their discography includes piano trios by Russian composers and the three Brahms piano trios.
"… The players’ traversal of Brahms’s oevre for piano trio shows them as a perfectly attuned group; both string players are mercurially alive in their phrasing and dose there usage of vibrato in a consistently unanimous manner." (The Strad)
The Trio's programme includes two 19th century masterpieces of the piano trio repertoire: the "Dumky" trio, one of Dvorak's best-known works, and the first of the two great piano trios by Schubert. They begin with a short, but delightful trio in one movement by Grieg.
