Gerard Flotats   Cello

Gerard Flotats is a dynamic Catalan cellist whose artistry spans Baroque performance on period instruments to cutting‑edge contemporary works with electronics. A laureate of major young‑artist programmes, he appears this season at Manchester’s Bridgewater Hall, King’s Place and the Pierre Boulez Saal. His festival engagements include Yellow Barn, IMS Prussia Cove, Mendelssohn on Mull, SHMF and Santander Encuentro, alongside collaborations with leading chamber musicians. Currently undertaking an Artist Diploma with Frans Helmerson, he is a Royal Academy of Music graduate and former EUYO principal. Recent projects such as Re‑imagining Bach reflect his commitment to innovative, socially engaged programming
